Ben Grossman and I have worked with each other several times over the past few years on each others projects and even shared time together at The Orphanage when he was Comp Supervisor on Day After Tomorrow and I was on Hellboy. Ben already had a great working relationship with up and coming directing star Claudio Faeh and Ben had even pulled me in to help both of them on a Sony commercial a year earlier. But when Claudio got the oppotunity to helm Hollowman II naturally he turned to Ben as his trusted VFX super and Ben knowing that I had just set up a studio in Asia asked if we could take on a significant portion of the paint and wire removal. As the three of us had good working experience before and I knew what to expect when Ben was on a shoot we were not worried about the shots we'd be getting but given the schedule and budget, we had to be very careful with project management and staffing.

Ben gave us two initial shots to test see if our new hand trained Bangkok 2d team was up to the challenge and when we passed all the QC concerns we were awared 78 shots of paint and wire removal to be turned around in two and a half months. We are very proud of this first big test of our team as well as how our production management organized the whole project. In the end we were awarded additional shots with a total of 90 within the same schedule, we only had to work two Saturdays and one Sunday in the course of the whole 3 month schedule. In addition we were given the extra shots since we were coming in a little ahead of schedule and had the bandwidth to take them on. As some of the work with the other vendors had grown too we had a great opportunity to work with Mauchi and Asa over at Assemble who were also alumni of The Orphanage.
